Initially, working in a tattoo shop as a body piercing technician in 1992, Ron Garza became not only proficient as a piercing artist, but also began to learn and cultivate many other different types of body art forms and medias such as scarification , branding , implants as well pursing another of his early loves in life — the art of body suspension. Whether doing a public performance shows, art installation or private ritualistic style suspension, Ron has dedicated huge portions of his life to this outlet and is well versed in most facets of suspension.

In addition to the artistry of body modification, Garza is not only a current active member of the Association of Proffesional Piercers but has also worked with the organization since 1997. Ron has undergone extensive training in a number of fields such as: anatomy, acceptable jewelry materials and specifications, aseptic and sterile piercing techniques, OSHA bloodborne pathogens /cross contamination prevention as well as holds current certification by the red cross for First aid and CPR.

At the yearly APP conference in Las Vegas, Ron has taught his freehand vs. clamp class (along with Dave Vidra and Alecia Cardenas) and had nearly 1000 people (942) people in attendance! He also attended and taught the APP's first international conference in another language in Mexico city in Feburary of 2006. Garza has written and presented, in both English and Spanish, industry staple courses such as: sterile techniques, medical risk assessment, and further specialized courses including basic infection control for the piercer. He also teaches scarification classes for PPIS (Pro Piercing Information Systems).

Recognized as one of the pioneers, innovators and an active participant of so much in the body art realms, Ron Garza can be booked for public speaking , classes or lectures. Recently, Ron gave a 2 hour lecture in Guadalajara in September 06, on the history of modern suspension and is expected to return for two, 2 day classes very soon to deliver his courses in Spanish, on both scarification and suspension.
